What it is

A local-first journal that turns trading history into evidence.

Quiet Merit is a browser-based trading journal for prop traders. It keeps trades, accounts, payouts, setups, sessions and R-multiple data in one app, then packages that data into quant-safe AI Review prompts for Claude or GPT. It is not a signal service, not financial advice and not a cloud account. You own the log, export JSON backups and decide what to do with the evidence.

Built for prop

Challenge, verification and funded journeys are native account states, not generic notes.

Local-first

Journal data stays in browser localStorage. Export JSON backups before switching devices.

AI Review

20 guardrails cover sample size, recency, outliers, R vs dollar and missing data.

Import paths

Manual logging, FTMO CSV and MT5/MT4 screenshots via OCR. Not tied to one broker.

One-time

$19 for the first 100 buyers, then $29. Single-user license with lifetime updates.

Boundary

Journal and analysis only. No trade calls, no buy/sell advice, no managed risk.

The product

Your journal, analyzed. No guessing.

Quiet Merit analyzes your journal with 20 statistical guardrails that filter false patterns, small samples and overreactions.

# Trading analysis
341 trades · 2025-11-26 → 2026-05-15 CONFIDENCE: HIGH

## Edge candidates

Setup 2 · London session
30 trades · WR 60% · R-expectancy +1.00R
Best setup×session signal in the demo data. Treat as scalable only after live validation.
EUR/USD · London session
14 trades · WR 79% · R-expectancy +1.35R
Possible edge. Sample is still medium, so increase frequency before increasing size.

## Leaks

Fast trades: Scalp + 5-30 min
135 trades · WR 19% · −$17,122 · −0.37R/trade
This is the strongest negative signal in the demo journal.
Off-plan trades: 68 of 341 (20%)
Off-plan WR 12% vs On-plan 50% · −$13,485
The journal is profitable overall, but off-plan trades are structurally negative.

## R vs Dollar

Total P&L
+$17,280
R-expectancy
+0.21R / trade
Overall outcome is positive, but fast-trade and off-plan subsets contradict the edge.

## System Focus — next 30 days

1. Primary focus
Validate Setup 2 in the London session with complete R logging before scaling risk.
2. Biggest leak
Fast trades are negative across 135 samples; remove them from live-risk decisions.
3. Edge candidate to validate
EUR/USD London — 14 trades, strong so far, still needs 25+ trades.
4. Ignore
Combinations the data can't support yet — don't force breakdowns the journal doesn't have.

Example above. Your report is based on your actual data.

How Quiet Merit avoids false conclusions
  • Sample-size lock. Draws no conclusions from too few trades.
  • Recency check. Lowers confidence when new data contradicts old data.
  • Independent evidence. Requires multiple signals before calling something "edge".
  • Outlier filter. Flags weak, extreme or contradictory data.

Questions

What is this, exactly?

A trading journal and statistics engine for prop traders. You log trades — the app calculates win rate, R-multiple, expectancy and breakdowns across 10 dimensions directly in your browser. The AI report feature packages your data with the 20 discipline guardrails for deeper narrative analysis in Claude or GPT. The core — the statistics and the guardrails — is Quiet Merit. Everything runs locally, no accounts.

How is it different from Edgewonk, Tradervue or TradeZella?

Three things: (1) built specifically for prop traders — challenge, verification and funded journeys are native, not bolted on. (2) The AI report uses 20 statistical guardrails to avoid hallucinations from small samples. (3) Single-file desktop app — your data stays local, no subscription, one-time payment.

Is this financial advice?

No. Quiet Merit is a journal and analysis tool, not an advisory service. The AI analyses are reflection tools that help you see patterns in your own trading — not trading recommendations. You make every decision yourself and carry all risk.

Does it work with my broker?

Trades can be imported through FTMO CSV export or MT5/MT4 screenshots (OCR). Manual logging works too. Prop firm support includes FTMO, MyForexFunds, The5%ers, FundedNext, FTUK and more. Not broker-locked — it works with any broker as long as you can export trades.

What do I need to run it?

A computer — Mac or Windows — and any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox). After purchase you download a ZIP, unzip it, and open the included HTML file. No installation, no account, nothing to set up. Quiet Merit is a desktop app — it is not designed to run from a phone's file browser (iOS will not run a local web app from Files), so use a computer.

Where is my data stored?

Locally in your browser (localStorage). No Quiet Merit server or cloud sync receives your journal data, and journal content is not included in website analytics. Screenshots you attach stay on your device. For journal features, the only app network call is screenshot OCR loading tesseract.js (free, open-source) from the jsdelivr CDN on first use — the image itself and the OCR result never leave your device. You can export all data as JSON. If you switch computer: import the JSON into the new browser. Export backups regularly — deleted browser history can delete the app data.

Do I get updates after purchase?

Yes. One-time payment includes lifetime updates — all future versions are included. No upgrade pricing, no subscriptions. Single-user license.

Can I refund the purchase?

Because this is a digital download, there is no automatic refund right. Test the demo properly first — it has all functionality except your own saved data. If something fundamental does not work after purchase, email david_krusell@icloud.com and I will sort it out.

Who is behind Quiet Merit?

David Krusell, a Swedish prop trader. Built for my own use first, then released because other prop traders asked for the same tool. No company behind it, no investor — one independent builder who trades prop capital and logs every trade himself.
